Research interests
Aging / Age discrimination
Aging and the social and economic issues of older adults are an overarching theme in my research. More recently, I am interested in ageism in the workplace and how perceptions of workplace ageism are shaping older adults' economic and health outcomes.
Racial/ethnic inequality
I rely on life course, cumulative inequality and intersectionality frameworks and focus on how racial/ethnic disparities manifest themselves especially as people get older.
Economic inequality
I study older adults' labor force participation and transition during economic crises. I have some interest in housing inequality and would love to collaborate with housing experts especially if they are interested in older individuals' experiences.
Health inequality
Currently, I am working on racial and ethnic differences in cognitive performance in later life. My previous work includes racial/ethnic disparities in mortality in later life.
